Why you win when you eat too fast

Are you slipping your lunch in front of the computer as well? And your dinner is quickly plastered while standing in the kitchen? Is not foreign to us. Unfortunately, this fast food increases the likelihood that you eat too much. Those who eat slowly become less likely to be obese or develop a metabolic syndrome. Because fast food can cause fluctuations in blood sugar, which raises the risk of insulin resistance. This is the conclusion of a study presented at the "Scientific Sessions 2017" of the American Society for Heart Health. Physicians at Hiroshima University in Japan examined 642 men and 441 women in the average age of 51 years for the research. None of the subjects had a metabolic syndrome. The participants were divided into three groups: slow eaters, fast eaters and "normal" eaters. Five years later, the physicians again evaluated the health data of the study participants. It showed: 11.6 percent of the fast-eaters now had a metabolic syndrome – ie increased blood lipids and blood sugar levels, high blood pressure and abdominal obesity – developed. With the normal eaters, it was only 6.5 percent. In the slow harvester just 2.3 percent. "If you eat fast, you will not feel full soon enough and eat more because of it."
