It sounds weird, but freckles are so hot this year that they even have their own "freckles" tattoos. In tattoo studios they are offered under the name "Sunkiss". Who is not quite so brave and does not want freckles for the eternity, ordered at Topshop (7, – Euro) or & Other Stories (9, – Euro) so-called "Freckle-Pencils", with which one the small dots directly into the Can paint the face. However, at the moment they are sold out because of the big demand … Do not worry: Of course it is also enough to have a dark eyebrow pencil. Then you should fix the fake freckles but with a little transparent powder, otherwise they disappear during the day.

Why do you get freckles?

Some people do not have to cheat at all. They are naturally blessed with the cute "pigmentation disorder". Or: Actually, the small points on the face or body are the consequences of a gene mutation, which is also hereditary. The pigment cells of our skin produce the dye melanin to protect the skin or the cell nuclei of the skin from UV radiation. In people with freckles, however, the pigment cells distribute the melanin unevenly on the skin, resulting in the small dark freckles. Especially fair-skinned people are particularly susceptible to the phenomenon, usually in combination with red hair.

Are freckles dangerous?

Not at all. There are only increasing numbers of pigments – and no pigment cells or birthmarks that can degenerate into harbingers of skin cancer. However, they are a sign that your skin is particularly sensitive to light. If you are inclined to do so, then you should avoid the direct sun and use a sunscreen with a particularly high sun protection factor!
